VELIKA STANGA, Slovenia

To actually get motivated to do
some wwoofing in the middle of nowhere after such a relaxing week is quiet difficult. Anyway I got on the road again and went to a very small town called Velika Stanga. I was lucky to get a ride from two young people because they didn’t have had to go there.

The Mateja and here kids where very welcoming me, Sandi (dad) came day after and we got a long from the beginning. Playing football and going to the villages gym on the first day with the boys I think made everybody going along very easily.

I was planning to stay with the family a few days and will keep going afterwards. In the end I stayed much longer and  went twice to Ljubljana for two nights. I LOVE that City.

While I was staying in Stanga, I did all sort of woodworks. I build the door for the chicken house, some cupboards doors, roofed the garden- and chicken house cleaned around the house as good as possible (the boys made a mess after 5 min) and much more you can think of.

In my free time I went for a walk to check out the village and the rurounding, I also went for a bike tour (WOW Slovenia is hilly) it was so steap that I almost had to push the bike. The good thing of going somewhere up the hill, you are going down at some point. Yes, 3KM downhill to the 3 river junction of ‘Sava’,
’Ljubljanica’ and ‘Kamniska Bistrica’ and beck to the house.

Over all I enjoyed staying with the Family: early mornings (myself a bit later) hard work and long cosy chatts. Great experience, I learned a lot especially about myself.

Thanks Family K.
