LJUBLJANA, Slovenia

Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Ljubljana, a name
which no foreigner can pronounce but a city full of charm and interests. The castle Ljubljana which brings you back into medieval history rises on the hill which is surrounded by the city.  Next to all the ancient buildings you can find street art and design all over the place.

First night was quiet interesting, I didn’t found a place to sleep straight away, I went to the University of Architecture where I got into a conversation with some random people which offered me there place to stay. In the end I went to the couchsurfing meeting where I got offered a place to stay in their house. The next day I had a wonder around the city again and I went to “Oloop Design” https://www.facebook.com/pages/Oloop-Design/171047806266104
After a long chat she decided to host me for one night. It was brilliant I had the chance to get to know her family and the company a bit better.

The second time I came to Ljubljana I got hosted be one of the owners from Smetumet http://www.smetumet.com/ they concentrate on up cycling in anyway. They make all sort of fashion, home ware and accessories out of whatever you can think of.  Very active woman and she got a lot of interesting hobbies like collecting keys or building bird cages but just for decoration and not to lock up some animals.

On that weekend I went to the museum night. I got the chance to see the national library, museum of modern art and my favourite exhibition I have ever been to, an exhibition about DOORS from Slovenia.  After all I went to Metelcova to meet up the French guy again which I have met at the prison hostel (yes you have heard right, it used to be a prison which got renovated from over 80 architects into a hostel) for a beer. Long night out and a beautiful morning.

I might have not sad everything I thought of, but you don’t have to know everything anyway. You also dont have to know who I got 2 carrots, 1 apple, 2 peaches and 2 apricots for 1€
