SIGHIŞOARA & BRAŞOV, Rumania

Sighișoara:

Sighișoara was just a few km away from Nocrich and they have held a Medieval-festival in the old town. We decided to make a daytrip to see the city and the festival. Ruxi, Rux and Adriana gave me company and on the way to Sighișoara we have stopped on the road to see Ruxis Grandmother. They have held a Saxon reunion at that time and I have met people form near Salzburg. To make everything more exciting, they were relatives with a friend from home. How small is that world.

Before that we have passed Henndorf. Its just funny for me because my Grandmother lifes in a town in Austria which is called Henndorf.

Coming to Sighișoara the old part of the city is located on a hill and has cobblestone streets all over. Every building is still in his shape and nicely done up. It has the regions oldest school with one small room and very old cemetery and beautiful hidden restaurants.

Brașov:

As we had to pick up a car and the Pottery wheel for the workshops Ruxi and me made our way to Brașov and Sinaia. On the way to Sinaia which is Mountain climbing and skiing resort we have passed the fortress of Râșnov. It’s a grand Ruin which is still used as a place for medieval activities. It used to have houses and a castle inside its walls.

Brașov is a big city but we have only visited the old part of the City which is full of monuments. It has the smallest street the massive black Church which is nicely renovated from the inside a medieval fortress and long walking streets. As soon as you enter the old part you feel like being in a different time.

The rest will be explained in pictures.
