SĂLIŞTE & ROŞIA MONTANĂ, Rumania

Săliște

We went to a little town called Săliște which is a few km outside of Sibiu. I also went there with the scouts to see festivalul Luminii which is organised by the scouts from that area. They have placed 4.000 candles in origami paper candle holders around the park and in front of the city hall. We helped them to light the candles and wondered around the town before we made our way to the campsite.

The festivalul Luminii is happening all over the world and it’s a fantastic spectacular. I got tolled that the one in Săliște was a very small festival.
Enjoy the pictures.

Roșia Montană

Roșia Montană is a Village far from everything else located in beautiful scenery of hills, forests and its typical Romanian haystacks. Roșia is much known throughout Rumania because of its gold fracking protests. The biggest problem is that they would do the mining with Cyanide. I won’t go into detail because it is a very complex situation.

I went there for the ‘Hay Fest’ for two days to see some Rumanian Bands, I went to the bone where they had a special guest how talked about the situation in Roșia right now and about the people how still live there. We did some dancing, some juggling and some Slack lining.
