STÂNA DE VALE & MARAMUREȘ, Rumania

Stâna de Vale

Leaving Nocrich was a sad but also exciting experience because I had some exploring time in front of me. I went to close to Bulz where I met Flavia and here friend Anca. We went up into nice and cosy lodge where we made a fire and had a few beers some BBQ and passed out in a nice bed. Blue sky, silent in the valley and only a little breeze was the perfect condition to go for a little hike. We packed some lunch and water and off we go, straight through the fields and forest. The straightest way we could have taken lead by Anca.

At some point we stood above a hang which was quiet steep, covered in leaves and broken branches, stones and trees are all over. However we decided to go straight down. I loved it; I did some leave sliding which was brilliant.  Further on we went to a water fall where I had a little nude shower but it was perfect with the beer after.

The area is close to ‘Stana de Vale’ which is supposed to be beautiful. But being at this place it was such a great empty place where not many people where around, where you won’t hear any car noise and you can see the stars very close. Hills after hills in strong shades of green.

Maramureș

From Stana de Vale I made a stopover in Cluj –Napoca before I made my way into Maramureș. Again I had an interesting car ride which offered me to stay at his place where I had my own bedroom, got dinner and breakfast and had a lovely chat.

The day after was absolutely exhausting, I walked about 20km with my around 20kg havy backpack. However it was beautiful walking through does little Villages with their wooden gates and wooden churches. The landscape is breath taking, the houses are kept in tradition and also the way they work on the fields.

I have got a ride for a bout 2km on a little scooter which made my day. I couldn’t say no to that offer. I missed a few good shots from the village but this ride was superb. I met a german couple which invited me for a beer and I also got invited to sit on the house bench from two villagers. We communicated with hand a feet had a laughter and they couldn’t believe what I am doing. In this area everybody asked me if I am alone or with my girlfriend. Singula Singula I always answered!

I got a ride from a polish couple and two strangers from the café gave me a place to sleep. The next days I spent the time with Anca’s mom ‘Mona’. She lives in that little old wooden house with no water only in the draw well outside. Its super cosy, she cooked for me and we were invited to the priest and his wife house for dinner, lunch and coffee, dinner again. I also could take a shower after a few days at their place. In return I did some interior design for their living room – dining room and the entrance hall.

Borsa the city its self is not worth a minute but Mona and George have made the best out of it. They took me to the nicest places of town or outside of the town so I could actually enjoy it. The surrounding, the mountains and nature are stunning but as I had problems with my rupture I didn’t go for any bigger hikes.
